This weekend is the 50th anniversary of the United States longest and most esteemed game convention, Gen Con. If you are reading this e-mail and are not currently in Indianapolis, it means you probably didn't get to go to Gen Con this year.
No worries. We have decided to host a special "Couldn't Make it to Gen Con" weekend for all of that got left behind. We'll be hosting two specials both Saturday and Sunday.

Greetings Magic Players,
This Saturday we are kicking off the summer Magic League. Magic League will run from Saturday, July 29th through Saturday August 26th. Start time will be this Saturday at 4pm
How does it work?
1) Each player starts with 2 Hour of Devastation Boosters and 1 Amonkhet Booster.
2) Players build a 30 card minimum deck, adding in basic lands as necessary.
3) All cards not in the main deck are your sideboard.
4) You play other league players @ GOB, best 2 out of 3 matches. Log you match wins/loses on your league sheet.
5) If you lose 3 matches, you may add another booster pack to your card pool. (for each three match loses).
6) On Saturday Aug 5th, 12th, and 19th, everyone may add one more booster pack to their card pool.
Matches must be played at GOB and against other league players.
4pm on Saturdays will be official league time, but you may also meet and play other players any time during the week.
You can not play the same player more than 3 matches in a row.
There is not cost to join or play in Magic League, other than your cost to buy your booster packs (from GOB)
Magic League is meant to be a fun and casual play opportunity for everyone. As such we will keep prizes simple. The player with the most match wins will get $10 in Magic Points, and the player with the 2nd will get $3 in Magic Points. The player voted (by the other players) to have built the most crazy, fun or bizzare deck, regardless of match wins, will get $2 Magic Pont.

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for our younger role-players to have fun playing Dungeons and Dragons this summer. GOB will be hosting two D&D Summer Camps this summer. Here is the key info.
1) The two groups will be separated by age:
Older Players - Ages 14-18 (Group A)
Younger Players - Ages 8-13 (Group B)
Age restrictions for these groups will be strictly enforced.
2) Summer Camps will be running the following days:
Group A
Wednesday, July 19th 1-5pm
Wednesday, August 2nd 1-5pm
Wednesday, August 9th 1-5pm
Wednesday, August 16th 1-5pm
Group B
Thursday, July 20th 1-5pm
Thursday, August 3rd 1-5pm
Thursday, August 10th 1-5pm
Thursday, August 17th 1-5pm
3) Our D&D summer groups will be run and supervised by GOB staff, with our staff being the Dungeon Masters and run in our open game room.
4) Players groups will be 4-8 players in size. They will be a 4 week campaign. Starting at level 1 and ideal for new players.
5) Cost to attend will be a one time fee of $60.
6) Each players will be given a set of Polyhedral dice to play and keep and all necessary character sheets.
7) As a general rule, we request children under the age of 12 to accompanied by an adult when in the store. This will not be necessary for kids playing in the summer camp, but we will require a phone contact for parents.
8) Parents are welcome to hang out in our game room, maybe play some other games, but the D&D groups are strictly for persons for the stated ages. If you would like a chance to join a group with your siblings, we have games running every Wednesday and they are open to all ages.
We are accepting reservations for summer camp now. You can make your reservations in store or at the link below. If making a reservation online, please make sure to state the child's name and age. On the first day of the event, if you signed up online, we'll need to see a school ID or some other form on ID so we can insure they are joining the appropriate age group.

Saturday, June 10th and 5-9pm, GOB Retail Games and Comics will be hosting a Dungeon Masters Workshop for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition.
We will be going over the nuts and bolts of how to be a Dungeon Master, from going over character generation with players, getting the adventuring party together, using plot devices and hooks, following published adventures, creating your own adventures and the all mighty skill of "winging it". Everything you'll need to know to get started Dungeon Mastering your own Dungeons and Dragons groups.
We will also be offering general Dungeon Mastering/Game Mastering advice on how to handle troublesome players, knowing when to fudge dice results, how to create filler content on the fly and leave players freedom of decisions and movement and still manage to run your pre-planned adventures. The tricks of the trade, if you will, on how to enjoy the process of crafting and running a game as a Dungeon or Game Master and how to make sure your players are being entertained and having fun.
While our focus will be on Dungeon Mastering 5th edition, a lot of this workshop and the guidance being offered can be applied to most role-playing game systems.
What to bring:
Players Handbook 5th edition is recommended
Dungeon Masters Guide 5th edition is recommended
Monster Manual 5th edition is recommended.
Cost of the event will be FREE, with this limitation. Entry to event is to spend $30 worth or more worth of stuff here at GOB Retail at the time of sign up. You can do this in store or online. If purchasing online and you want to sign up for the workshop, make sure to put that into your transaction notes (for Paypal) or give us a call after making your order.
Not sure what to buy. No problem. You can also sign up online merely by buying $30 store credit with GOB, which you can use later once you decide what to use it on.

All information is from the MK II spell draft packet, all spells will be played as worded on the drafted cards to save time.
It says to use Outflank, so for this I will run SR 2016 scenario Outlast.
• All spells listed on a warcaster’s or warlock’s spell card and all animi on warbeasts are considered “erased” for this format. You can use only the spells and animi that you draft in this event (see below).
• DRAFTING: Before the tournament begins, players are divided into groups of up to eight players. Every player is given a deck of eight cards, each of which lists one spell or animus. When the EO announces that it is time to begin drafting, take one card from your deck and add it to your spell pool. Once all players have chosen a spell,
players simultaneously pass their decks to the player on their left. Then take the deck from the player on your right and repeat the process until your spell pool contains exactly eight cards.
• Spell cards you draft become part of your warcaster’s or warlock’s spell list for the duration of the tournament. Replace the text of the The Witch Coven of Garghast's Perfect Conjunction ability with the following:
A Perfect Conjunction is established anytime the Egregore is completely within the triangular area between all three Witches and each Witch has LOS to each other Witch. During a Perfect Conjunction, reduce the COST of the first spell each Witch casts during her activation by 1.
SPELL DRAFT ERRATA
• Animus cards you draft can either become part of your warcaster’s or warlock’s spell list or be assigned to a warbeast as an animus. If you assign a card as an animus, all warbeasts in your army that share the same name gain this animus. Example: Joey has five shredders in his army list. He drafts the animus card Rush. Joey can choose to
give his warcaster Rush as a spell or assign Rush to one of his warbeasts as an animus. Joey assigns Rush to a shredder, so all five shredders now have Rush.
• If an effect would reduce the COST of a spell below 1, it reduces it to 1 instead.
• Cards labeled as spells can be used only as spells; they cannot be assigned as animi.
• Once all players have drafted their spell list and assigned any animi, note on your player record sheet the spell resources you have and how you allocated any animi.

This year International Tabletop Game Day will be on Saturday April 29th. As usual GOB will hold a bunch of gaming activities for the day. To make this year even more exciting, we would like to invite Game Publishers (local or otherwise) to demo / showcase / run special events and sell their games.
There are limited tables for the publishers. GOB will provide tables for you to set up and present your games. We're looking for publishers of Board and Card Games.

Greetings,
We've updated our list of events here at GOB for the next few months. The updated list includes everything scheduled at this time and includes our weekly events, our rotating game demos and special events like the upcoming Warmachine tournament in March, Magic pre-release events for Amonkhet (the next Magic set) and International Table Top Day on April 29th.
The big change in scheduling is we will now be hosting a rotating list of "Learn to Play" events for board games, D&D and other role-playing games, and our popular miniature games like X-Wing, Warmachine, Armada and Heroclix. We also plan to diversify our painting workshops, rotating from Learn to Paint: The Basics, Learn to Paint: Advanced Techniques, Miniature Modeling and Basing and then Painting Competitions.
Below is the schedule for the remainder of February through the end of April.
Don't forget, GOB Retail can suport up to 150 players in our game room, so feel free to use our game room to play your own games as well, or throw down one of the games from our growing Demo Library.

Saturday Oct 15th - Saturday Nov 5th 2016
League rules :
Players will choose 1-2 factions and make 2 lists. If 2 factions are chosen, each list MUST be one of each of the factions. Players choosing one faction will make both lists from that faction. No unique upgrades or Pilots can be shared between lists. Each week, players will play 2 games; 1 game each with each list. Players will escalate each list to match the point layout each week; keeping anything from the prior list as is. However, if any unique Pilot or upgrade is lost in a match, they must be replaced for the following list, and cannot be used again for the rest of the league.
Losses of unique upgrades and pilots will be tracked per player each week, to ensure no reuse of lost unique.
Game playing on every Saturday starting Oct 15th - Nov 5th. 1pm each week.
Week / Points Layout
Week 1 : 60 - must include at least 2 ships
Week 2 : 90
Week 3 : 120
Week 4 : 150
Fee : $5
Prizes : All fees will go to store credits for the top 3 winners.

Zombies are predictable, stupid but deadly, controlled by simple rules and a deck of cards. Unfortunately for you, there are a LOT more zombies than you have bullets.
Find weapons, kill zombies. The more zombies you kill, the more skilled you get; the more skilled you get, the more zombies appear. The only way out is zombicide!

When: October 8th, 2016
Registration: 12:30pm
Start: 1:00pm
Where: GOB Retail - Michigan's Largest Game and Comic Store

Clawson, MI 48017
What: 50 pts; two lists optional. If you bring a second list, you must play it at least once during the tournament. Both lists must be from the same faction, but cannot have the same version warcaster/warlock in each list per Baseline rules.
The tournament will use the Destruction Scoring variant; meaning that ties on tournament points will be first broken by total army points destroyed, then control points, and then by strength of schedule.
Entry Fee: $5.00
Prizes: store credit for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places; amounts are to be determined based on participation.

Come learn A beautiful and beautifully simple game of laying a tile before your own token to continue its path on each turn. The goal is to keep your token on the board longer than anyone else's, but as the board fills up this becomes harder because there are fewer empty spaces left... and another player's tile may also extend your own path in a direction you'd rather not go. Easy to introduce to new players, Tsuro lasts a mere 15 minutes and actually does work for any number from 2 to 8.

Arkham Horror is a cooperative adventure game themed around H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Players choose from 16 Investigators and take to the streets of Arkham. Before the game, one of the eight Ancient Ones is chosen and it's up to the Investigators to prevent it from breaking into our world. During the course of the game, players will upgrade their characters by acquiring skills, allies, items, weapons, and spells. It's up to the players to clean out the streets of Arkham by fighting many different types of monsters, but their main goal is to close portals to other dimensions that are opening up around town.
With too many portals open the Ancient One awakens and the players only have one last chance to save the world. Defeat the Ancient One in combat!

Sometimes we guess wrong and don't bring in enough for everyone that proved interested. When we think we have such a product, if the publisher is known to be reliable, we then offer the title on our Pre Order Plus program to try and solve this problem. With Pre-Order plus you are guaranteed to get your new games on the day of release or for some games first week depending on publishers and you get Double GOB Reward Points (and sometime other benefits). We then try to adjust our distributor orders upwards based on pre-orders that come in so we may also attempt to have shelf stock available for others on release as well.

With the smashing success of the Mark III launch for Warmachine and Hordes, GOB Retail wants to give all the new players an opportunity to play their new armies.
Announcing our first Journeyman League for Mark III.
Play begins on week one with a Zero point army, using a starting battlegroup and each Saturday thereafter the maximum point value games that can be played increases, finishes on the last Saturday with 75 point armies.

Have hard to find items you are looking for? Is GOB out of stock on it presently? You can sign up to a back-in-stock e-mail notification for any item we've had before and are currently out of. Used comics, magic singles, board an card games between printings, recent releases pending restock, etc. The system will automatically send you an e-mail the moment the items receives additional quantities in our inventory system.
GOB Gaming Library
We have several hundred board, card and war games in our public gaming library. These are available for anyone to come play and try out in our game room. All we ask is that you put the games back nicely when you are done with them. We have a partial list of available library games at gobretail.com, but there are many older strategy and war games as well.
Reviews and Product Tagging
You can write reviews or add informative tags to products in our system. Reviews submissions are limited to only those persons who have purchased the item previously. Anyone may add product tags to a product.

NEW MK III is coming out next week (Wed 29th June). Preorders pickup and core rule books, starter sets, faction decks will be available for sale approx after 2 pm (after UPS drop off the shipment).
GOB is going to host a last MK II Tournament and would like to invite everyone bring your armies and get gaming on This Saturday 25th June. Registration start 12.30 pm.
Detail :
35 pts gaming; one list only.
To embrace the upcoming release of the Mk III rules of WARMACHINE/HORDES, we will be integrating certain rules already previewed from Privateer Press. Not all at once! Instead, as the tournament progresses, we will incorporate more of Mk III into the matches. From the first round of matches onward, everyone will be allowed to premeasure on their turns. As for what else pops up, well more matches we have, the more will be added in!
Entry Fee: $5.00
Prizes: All entry fees go to Prizes as Store Credit for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places; amounts are to be determined based on participation.
And Next week Saturday July 2nd is going to be "MK III Launch tournament". - Lot of cool prizes from tournament kits for players will be available as well.

What: battlebox only; so, 0 points.
This will be the first WARMACHINE/HORDES tournament at GOB Retail utilizing the newly released Mark III rules! To kick things off, this will be a battlebox only tournament.
Why are we starting later than normal? We want to give players who purchased their box sets that day an opportunity to assemble their models. Speaking of which, we will be a little more lenient on model assembly for the tournament; in that models will not be required to be fully assembled to be considered legal for game play. Models will still need to be clearly identifiable.
We’ll keep everyone updated to any and all changes as we get closer to release.
Entry Fee: Having purchased any newly released faction Starter Box Set/s from GOB Retail (Preorder or purchase after release or on that day. Recommend to preorder. Supplies are very limited Available at manufacturer level)
Prizes: We will have an assortment of special promo items and, we believe, a medal, from the Mark III special release kit we ordered from Privateer. We’ll announce specific prizes once we receive that launch kit.

Last week Privateer Press announced a complete sell out of launch kits and Mark III release product at the manufacturer level. Plus, that demand for Mark III has been so strong that they also had to allocate product being sent to their distributors. It would seem the faction starter sets will be extremely limited for a time.
