Video Game Tournaments?

TOPIC : Video Games

Title : Video Game Tournaments? By : Erik Woods Created :

Has GOB ever considered having video game tournaments? It would be really cool to have a Super Smash Bros Melee tournament.

I don't know how much room you'd have for something like this but I think I could get a handful of people who would want to play - it would perhaps get a different crowd of people to come in and see what you've got for sale.

PS- Thanks for the gameboy and gamecube games I picked up on my lunch break today - can't wait to play them!

We had considered the idea when we first opened, but found our current set up not able to support them.

We have exactly two plug outlets in the back gaming room and into them we already have some of the lights plugged in.

For any gaming that requires network play, our network isn't robust enough to handle the basic business needs plus allow for network gaming traffic in addition.

So while video gaming events in store would certainly seem to be up our alley, just not sure they are practical at the moment.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hey Erik Woods, do you have a DVD Recorder? If you do man, help a fellow gamer out by letting me have that old hardware for free. I have a PS2 and I am trying to break a Twin Galaxies International record. If you're wondering what Twin Galaxies is... it's a book and website that has been around since 1981 and they do the official records for video games

My post said nothing about getting rid of any hardware, Andrew. Good luck. Tell Walter I said hi.
