Description Designer Bernd Eisenstein launched his own publishing company Irongames with Peloponnes which debuted at Spiel 2009. For his 2010 release ? Porto Carthago ? Eisenstein is staying in the Mediterranean Sea in ancient times. Here's a short game description from the designer: Players represent senators in ancient Carthage one of the most important sea and economic powers. Players try to create a good business by sending servants to various places delivering goods onto the incoming ships and sending out their own ships to raise capital and get trading points which will show the most influential merchant. The major goal is to increase your influence in the palace in order to have the most servants in the palace but beware of the intrigue of the opponents! As Eisenstein notes in a game history on his website (in German) the idea for Porto Carthago emerged after seeing a documentary on the city in 2005 and being impressed by the modernness of the port facilities. It was ahead of its time which contributed to its rise in trade and military power he says.
