Summary Review	If you're a fan of Super Dungeon Explore: Forgotten Kings this is a worthwhile addition to your collection. The models included are unique, which offers some variety for both the consul and the heroes to make sure they can customize their team as much as they like.
Detailed Review	Overall, as a game SDE is good, but fairly time consuming. The balance between the monsters and players is highly dependent on the characters used, and there are online tier rankings around to showcase that. In this box in particular, the heroes are average, but add provide some good options for the players: The Deeproot Scout is a utility character. With a burst attack, you get a bit of area control for a low cost. He also has the ability to drag a treasure chest beside him, which is good for a quick early game power boost for one of your characters. Combine that with two strong potions and you have a reasonable hero. The Starguild Sapper is a fire based attack unit with good defense. Overall has very strong damage output, and if you can give him extra actions, you can do 2 massive damage hits per turn, which can compete with some of the bigger bosses out there. Lacks in versatility however, and needs things to line up just right to deal with crowds. Princess Ruby is the weakest of the bunch, but is meant to be a support character. Her buffs are good early game, but rapidly lose efficacy as the game goes long. She has good defense, however, and will likely stick around a long time. She also has one of the strongest heal abilities around, and it's tied to action points, so you can use it reliably instead of counting on rolling potions For the consul, there are 4 different units: The big boss, Roxor, is not the most powerful, but can alternate between good defense and good offence without compromising the other too much. Not the strongest boss out there, however, as one of his abilities is useless without other minions around, and even then it's only marginally useful. The miniboss Rock Gut is overall very solid, and usually a good choice to add to the board. Hard to kill, and with consistent damage output, you can't ask for much more from a boss. For the spawning points, the Lava Whirl is good, and gives you a surprising number of models for a single spawn. As some models die, they produce smaller units that can act every turn, and can overwhelm some groups of heroes. The anchor unit, the Blazing Beetle, is also fairly strong on its own. The paired spawn Rock Pile is a bit complex to use effectively, and although interesting, it can bog down the game with options and information tracking in an already complicated system. Add that to the fact that the complexity doesn't offer much power for the consul, this is more of a fun spawn for people who are a couple games in, and well versed in the rules. If you're a fan of SDE , this is a worthwhile addition to your collection, simply for the variety it affords. Just make sure you have the Forgotten Kings upgrade deck to make sure it's fully compatible with your new models! The box itself only comes with 1st Ed cards.
