Description Three levels of civilization building await you with Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization. Rather than conquering territory on a map, players develop their civilizations by laying cards on the table in front of them. You can play a short tutorial that teaches you the game's mechanics, enjoy an advanced game where politics and corruption come into play, or play the full version and construct your civilization from spear-throwing to space flight.

You will have to decide what your civilization's characteristics are. Will it be warlike? Religious? Artistic? Or perhaps technologically advanced? Although your goal is to produce as much culture during the game, and not to destroy the other player's societies, substantial culture can still be accumulated through war and acts of aggression. Culture can also of course be gained through non-violent means such as religion, literature, the building of awe inspiring wonders, and through the cult of personalities. In the end, the civilization builder that accrues the most culture wins not only the game, but hopefully the admiration of his people!
