The Game Setting
Just a few months from the Pearl Harbor attack, the US military looks for revenge. Four Japanese fleets are on their way to take the Midway Islands from the US. The US can only muster 2 carriers (Enterprise & Hornet), The Yorktown leaves two days later after almost sunking in the Battle of the Coral Sea. The US has one advantage, they have broken the Japanese code and know that they are on their way.
It is not an understatement to say that the battle of Midway was the turning point of the war in the pacific. Up until the Midway Battle the Japanese had taken the fight to the US, after Midway the US took the fight to the Japanese. If the US would have lost the Battle of Midway the war would have lasted at least another year.
